Question #1:
My partner had his Canadian Life Insurance application turned down. The company said they are not obliged to give a reason why. I thought if we asked they need to give us an answer. Are life insurance companies legally obliged to give a reason and if so do you know a particular law we can quote them. Thanks so much.
Question #2:
I'm 25 living in a part of the country where I know only a handful of people, and fewer then that are even friends. I have a bunch of friends back home, but, their the kind of friends you watch a game with, get drunk with, or, for some reason listen to theior problems, and offer excellent advice. I don't really have anyone to vent to, talk to, seek advice from, anything, and I'm in a weird place, a crossroads over the next year or two. I've been in the practice of swallowing my emotions for too long. Since I'm not gona dump any of my problems on a friend who isn't all that interested in hearing them, I figure a psychologist's take on where my head is would be the best way to go. My medical insurance is pretty crappy, it's what the school provides; is psychological care covered in most insurance plans? If not is there any place that typically provides it? IDK, a shot in the dark, figured I'd ask. Thanks.

Question #4:
I am very particular about my teeth, they are my favorite "me" thing, you know how some people love their hair and some people have great eyes, well my best feature is my teeth and I have always taken very good care of them getting them cleaned twice a year. Well I am now without dental insurance and it is driving me crazy to not get them cleaned, I've heard there are some policies you can take out privately without going through your employer. Does anybody know of anything like this or had any experience with one?
oh, and thanks in advance!
Never had a cavity in my life, wisdom teeth already removed YEARS ago, brush, floss, and listerine twice a day. No problems, just want to keep getting them cleaned twice a year so I don't get problems.
Question #5:
This past May, someone totaled my Jeep cherokee sitting outside the front of my house. It was like 3am and i heard a crash. I then ran outside and at first didn't see where my jeep went but it was in my neighbors front yard. The way it was on there looked like i drove it directly in front of their house. A little harder and it would of went through their living room. Well I called the police and waited. I looked down the street and there sat a Ford Econoline van with the front smashed in and the airbags deployed, no one in there. The cops get there and ask me what happened. I tell them the jeep on my neighbors lawn is mine and the van in the street is the one that hit it. The cop then asked me if i saw them do it because he couldnt go arrest any random person. I told him no but it was pretty obvious. So they made me drive my jeep off the front yard back into the street. At first i was hesistant but they told me the alternative was to pay for a tow. Then my insurance totaled the car and paid off what i owed on it. I never found out who did it or what happened to them. The police report said they went to the persons house but they werent home. Then they closed the case and that was that.

Question #10:
My husband has started having episodes of double vision. It started about a week ago and happens about once a day usually lasting 15 to 30 minutes. He has no other symptoms. He feels fine. He takes Dilantan for epilepsy, but he has been on it for years. When he covers one eye, he sees fine, and when he look down, up, and both sides he sees fine. However, if he looks straight ahead he has double vision. I also noticed that one of his pupils is dilated more than the other during the episode. When he blinks, he sees fine for a few seconds and everything goes double again. I have thought about diabetes, but I know for a fact he doesn't have high blood sugar, but there is a family history of diabetes 1, but if he eats something with sugar, the symptoms do not go away. I know he needs to go to the doctor but that is easier said than done considering he does not have health insurance. Has anyone experienced this before?
We are concerned that his medicine maybe causing this problem. His Dilantan levels have recently started flucuating, and we haven't gotten it straightened out yet. Also, could epilepsy cause this problem?
Should we got to the ER when he is having an episode of double vision because at the moment, he is seeing clearly?

Question #12:
My best friend & her soon to be hubby are searching for apartments. They are getting married next month & they are both young (21 & 23)
I went with them to look at apartments today & they found the perfect apartment complex that they love but they have no idea which actual apartment they should choose:
One bedroom one bath 535 square feet ($650 per month)
One bedroom one bath 758 square feet ($750 per month)
They both work full time jobs & income together is about $4000 before taxes every month.
Of course they have other bills I don't know the specifics on but they have car notes, insurance etc. Which do you think would be the best apartment for a first time married couple. This being their first time on their own. Currently I have my own one bedroom apartment but its just me so i don't know if i should tell them to get the bigger apartment or the smaller to save money & learn how to pay bills etc first then upgrade after the first year or so. I also know being cramped in a small apartment could be irritating though. What do you guys think? They both keep asking me what I think and I have no idea.
Apartment complex is fully equipped but this is their first time living outside of their parents houses.
Thanks in advanced!

Question #14:
I don't think my 20MG Prozac prescription is helping me much. I've been having relapses lately. I don't have insurance, so seeing a doctor is out. I got the prescription from my OB/GYN before state insurance dropped me. Just wondering if I should go ahead and double up my doses.
Thanks ahead of time
Question #15:
I am starting to really wonder if my husband has hypothyroidism. While he is a busy guy, he is constantly tired and sleeps all the time. He typically sleeps 10 hours a night and has never required this much sleep in his life. When he is awake and not at work, he's laying down. A lot of times he wants to wait until the next day to go the grocery store because he doesn't feel like getting out. Typically, we run around doing something almost every night and he's never tired. We have also started exercising and trying to cut back on eating, but it seems like no matter what he does it doesn't affect his weight. Then, after we exercise it's like it zaps what little energy he does have. He is also complaining of a abnormally low sex drive. He says the idea of sex seems good, but by the time we get to bed he's just so exhausted he doesn't even feel like putting out the effort.. And that is one problem he and I have definitely never had before. (All of you people that are thinking "ha! affair," I can promise you that's not the case... I'm looking for medical advice, not relationship advice) The more he complains about constantly being tired and never being rested, despite much sleep... I can't help but wonder what it could be. To top it off, we are currently without health insurance.. So does anyone know if health departments can do a thyroid test? Instead of expensive doctor and lab bills... Thanks!!
Question #16:
I am looking at buying a motor scooter as my first vehicle. What are the pros and cons of this? Do I need insurance? Will I get dirty riding it? Is it safe? What do I need to know for and before buying?
Question #17:
Okay, I am a Senior in high school and I will be graduating in June, but come this summer I will be driving to Alaska (from Ohio).
So, I am going to school in Australia, and I want a bus to drive across the United States to Alaska. I would be going with my cousins and we would drive to California, then to Alaska.
Now, do you think this is a good decision?
It would be a summer car and once I head off to school in Australia, my dad would either sell it, or it would be kept with my cousins.
If my dad did decide to let me have it, it would be within the next 4 weeks (winter)
What's the Mpg?
What's the likelihood of it breaking down? (%?)
If you think this is an absolutely horrible idea, than what is a good van/bus to drive across the United States in? (for say around 7 to 8 people)
the trip would most likely take around 5 weeks......
thank you thank you!
Oh yeah!, here are the two buses that I am currently interested in.....

P.S
I will be paying for insurance and gas, not my dad!

Question #19:
I've taken 2 pregnancy tests this month. The first was a VERY faint positive. I waited a week later and took another test that was an unquestionable positive- so I firmly believe my husband and I are expecting. We aren't financially ready for a child and we have been going through some difficult times. We don't even have medical insurance! There is a small chance that my in-laws might take this as bad news rather than a blessing. I'm nervous about their reaction. I will see them on Thanksgiving. How do I break the news in a dignified manner?
He is a full time student in his junior year at the university. He works part time as a personal trainer. I work part time as waitress and part time as a baker and cake decorator. We only make enough to get by.
Question #20:
I am currently unemployed in Illinois-I was let go after one month...?
Not for poor performance- it was a team based environment & the team did not 100 % vote I stay.
Prior to that I was employed with an insurance company for 4 months. I had to quit becasue of medical reasons. Prior to that I worked 7 years as aliability adjustor for Enterprise rent a car- I quit that job to go to the other insurance compnay ( better benefits, ect ) So my question is- what unemployment benefits am I entitled to? I have a claim that was "approved" through Illinois employment services...however they sent me a debit card and its blank. I recieved a letter that I have to call on 11/24 to certify my unemployment. Will they ask me questions? What will they ask? We are getting pretty broke (my husband works but we need two incomes ) Please can anyone give me some advice? Thanks so much. As a side note I was let go from the last company November 6th. Thanks again.
